Back to School Makeup & Skin Care Refresh

It’s that time of the year again, back to school! Which forever reminds me of this scene from Billy Madison. Anyways, I teamed up with Cool Down Blog to bring you a simple Back to School Makeup look & have a chat with you about skin care. Check out the blog post in full riiiiiight here + watch the video below!

Quick & Easy Summer Makeup

Some days we want to wear makeup but not spend time doing it – don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the process of getting ready. Occasionally, more than I like the activity I am doing. Sorry everyone, I love snuggling with my blankie, my kitten & my boyf. I digress. On this day I wanted to look a little more put together without putting in the time, so viola! I also wanted to wear my (at the time) new Jeffree Star liquid lip in Rose Matter. I can report now that this lippie is INCREDIBLE! Long-wearing, pigmented, smells nice, builds easily. I also love the applicator – it’s firm enough that  I can maneuver the thinnest parts of my lips but can fill in the larger areas quickly and without being streaky. Hearts in my eyes over this stuff.

Meghan Trainor Dear Future Husband Video Look + Foolproof Cat Eye Trick

Guys, I am on a serious Meghan Trainor kick. When her album first came out a few months ago it was on heavy rotation but then, as it always happens, I put her on the back burner. The recent release of her video for the song “My Future Husband” has put her album back into my life! Aside from the song being super cute + catchy, the makeup in this video is my idea of perfection – cat eyes, bright lips + contours. To me, it doesn’t get much better than that! The look I chose from the video is actually the thumbnail + the photo that comes up most often when  you Google image search Meghan Trainor My Future Husband. To watch the video, click here.

In this video I show you a foolproof way to accomplish a cat eye! All you need is some tape + whatever eyeliner poison you prefer – gel, liquid, pencil or even eyeshadow for a soft wing. You really can’t screw it up using this method, it makes it so easy to create a wing, big or small.

Burgundy Smokey Eye

Ok ok, I know. I have been doing a ton of smokey eye tutorials recently. But honestly, doesn’t this time of year just call for this kind of eye look?! While it’s chilly + dark I like to pile on all the eyeshadow + liner. This look is all about matte brown-red + burgundy shades + a long lasting plum lip. Something a little different for the holiday party circuit but really beautiful and really easy. The lipstick I used, CoverGirl’s Euphoria, is insanely long wearing + leaves a lovely stain on the lips when it does wear off. I’m a huge fan, and not just because my girl Katy Perry wore it in one of her CG ads. I tried to make the skin glowy, using MAC’s Face and Body which has a nice natural sheen to it. I packed the highlighter on, using both a cream and powder + went over my cream blush with a highlighter blush.

Quick + Easy Every Day Makeup

I filmed this look today, that being Sunday, as I was running out to do a few errands & wanted to look a little bit more presentable for the outside world. That being said, there are 2 things I’d like to mention. 1)There are MANY days that I go out + feel totally fine without makeup on, I have no problem being a makeup free lady but today I felt like I wanted just a little to even out my skin tone + brighten up my face. 2) You can do this any day, not just Sunday 🙂

This look is insanely easy + quick and anyone can do it. Tinted moisturizer provides some coverage while concealer takes care of those tough spots. Cream highlighter + blush add a soft glow, a little liner + mascara frame the eyes and a simple lip color pulls it all together!
