Another weekend, another Makeup Geek Sparkler to try out. I apologize for the redundancy but I only bought two of these babies and can’t pull them off in the workplace, so they have taken over my last couple uploads. But for good reason – they’re gorgeous! Enjoy this one, a purple smoky situation using Kat Von D’s new Shade + Light blush, and the Makeup Forever HD Foundation in liquid form rather than a stick – I made the switch and my dry skin is SO much happier!

If I am being 100% real with you all, I must confess that I felt hella inspired by Katy Perry to do this look. I am the girl who has loved KP wholeheartedly from the beginning. I bought her album, I got her stickers, I saw her in person at Warped Tour but after getting rained on decided to skip her set because “she’ll be back”. After being a freakin’ megastar. Anyways, I got tickets for her Prismatic World Tour with a girlfriend last year and finally had the opportunity to see her. At the Garden. Girl’s got skills.
Her Prismatic World Tour made it onto my most favorite place, Netflix, so naturally I put it on and ate it all up. And then filmed this look because glitter is pretty and she wears it and I had some in my drawer from an Ipsy bag.

It’s safe to assume that if you follow my blog, you’re a beauty blogger/YouTuber addict just like me. I spend an exorbitant amount of my life watching other people apply makeup, chat about products they love + live their lives (who else is devastated that Vlogmas is over?!). One of my all time favorites is Jaclyn Hill, a makeup artist known for her love of a cat eye, smoking out that lower lash line + having a bold personality. I love her. I think she is insanely talented, so down to earth, honest + hilarious. That being said, when she posted her NYE look I knew I had to give it a shot, even though it intimidated me!
One of the coolest parts of makeup is seeing how a look progresses, how it can go from looking like a sloppy mess to a work of art with a blending brush + some patience. I wanted to share my recreation of Jaclyn’s look with you guys! I didn’t film it, but I can if you’d like! I wore this on NYE + absolutely loved it. I’ve never done a double liner before but honestly, it was so easy!
Who are your favorite YouTubers? I am always looking for more talented people to inspire me!
Alos, if you aren’t following me on other forms of social media, DO IT!
New Years Eve is the time for glitter, sparkles, bubbles (in beverages, of course). This look was created as part of a collaboration with a subscriber who reached out to me named Sondra. We decided that we would both use the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette to create looks fit for a NYE party. In addition to makeup, I also tackled nails + hair. Sondra will be bringing you an outfit as well as makeup so make sure to head over to her channel. Doing this collaboration was so much fun! I hope this is the beginning of something new for my channel. Huge thanks also to my good friend Barrington Beats who has allowed me to use a couple of his mixes as the soundtrack to my video. If you want to hear ore of his stuff, you can find him here.
I quickly want to thank each and every one of you who has supported me throughout 2014. If you read the blog, watch the videos, or tell someone else about my little channel, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I started my YouTube channel and this blog because I truly love all things beauty + absolutely adore the beauty community already established on the web + wanted to be a part of it. Words cannot properly capture the excitement I experience when one of you tells me you tried a technique I used, watched a video I posted or learned something new. That’s the point of all this! I only hope to grow and improve in 2015 and bring you better content. Being able to share my passion has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life!
I planned on doing a voice over for this, however, our family suffered the loss of most adored feline friend + I just can’t bring myself to record something. I have instead used music from a Christmas EP I recorded last year with my boyfriend as the soundtrack + have listed all the products below + in the description box. Please give all your loved ones, both human + furry, lots of hugs, kisses and cuddles and tell them every single day how much you treasure them.
This look is your classic holiday makeup, complete with a long lasting red lip + lots of shine.
I am fully indulging in all things Autumn…candles, apple recipes + of course, makeup. This look is one of my absolute favorites I’ve ever created. The technique is called Tulip eyeshadow placement, which is fancy for placing your dark shade on the outer + inner corner and putting a lighter pop on the center of the lid. This technique can be used with any color combination your heart desires! Honestly, this was my first attempt at doing this and was psyched with how it turned out.
