As far as holiday makeup looks go, this one is fairly straight-forward – it’s all about a red lip, gold, fluttery lashes & glowy skin. It’s kinda my version of makeup heaven. This look can be achieved with things you probably already have in your collection & can be adapted to your features. Want to do a cat eye? Be my guest. Want to skip that nose highlight? Good on ya. Don’t feel like applying lashes? Do ya thing, girl! (or guy!) All I ask is that you enjoy yourself, cause that’s what makeup is all about.

Tanya Burr…she is so many things! YouTuber, Author, Creator (of her own Lip Glosses, Nail Polishes + False Lashes) + All Around Lovely Human. Aside from being a talented makeup artist, Tanya is also one of the sweetest people that I feel like I am best friends with even though I have never met her. She is genuine, humble + hardworking. Just a few reasons why it was a total no-brainer doing a makeup look inspired by her.
I have been tossing the idea around lately of doing a YouTuber inspired series. A lot of the ladies I watch on YouTube have very different and distinct makeup styles and I am constantly drawing inspiration from them. Tanya is all about having a flawless base, glowy cheeks and eyes + glossy lips. It is effortless and youthful, simple but stunning. I hope you enjoy this look, let me know if you’re interested in more YT inspired looks! Also, side note, my hair was air drying while filming and the lighting isn’t great, I hope it all isn’t too distracting! xo
Selena Gomez is a complete + total babe. She also makes some of the catchiest songs of all time. I have been known to put her songs on repeat, including “Who Says” (best message ever), “Come and Get It” (sassy as hell), and most recently, “The Heart Wants What It Wants” (how beautiful is the melody when she sings, ‘the bed’s gettin’ cold & you’re not here’?!). I love her, if you can’t tell. So it was kind of a no brainer doing a makeup look inspired by her. Her eyes are similar to mine in the sense that they’re smaller + fairly hooded so I knew that I would be able to pull this look off. I found this picture + used it as my main source of inspiration.

Guys, I am on a serious Meghan Trainor kick. When her album first came out a few months ago it was on heavy rotation but then, as it always happens, I put her on the back burner. The recent release of her video for the song “My Future Husband” has put her album back into my life! Aside from the song being super cute + catchy, the makeup in this video is my idea of perfection – cat eyes, bright lips + contours. To me, it doesn’t get much better than that! The look I chose from the video is actually the thumbnail + the photo that comes up most often when you Google image search Meghan Trainor My Future Husband. To watch the video, click here.
In this video I show you a foolproof way to accomplish a cat eye! All you need is some tape + whatever eyeliner poison you prefer – gel, liquid, pencil or even eyeshadow for a soft wing. You really can’t screw it up using this method, it makes it so easy to create a wing, big or small.
Today’s look is inspired by the lovely Ariana Grande! She generally rocks a cat eye, nude lips and not much on the face. I threw on a pair of feline lashes for some added drama, which is totally optional. I added a bit of Hoola bronzer as well but I forgot to press play when I did so you just don’t see the application of it, but it’s there. Ariana is much more golden than I am so I wanted to duplicate that a little bit. This look is insanely simple + you should all try it! The picture I used for reference is below!

It’s amazing how a product can act as a singular source of inspiration + make you want to crawl inside one of your favorite TV shows. That product is the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in Retro Coral + that show is Mad Men. This color is PERFECT for pretending you are smack dab in the middle of the 60s, rockin’ a gorgeous lip, wavy hair + pencil skirt. I have some mixed feelings on the formula of this lipstick but the loveliness of the color cannot be denied. I also have mixed feelings on Mad Men returning in April….while I cannot wait to catch up with Don, Joan, Peggy + the rest of the gang, I am so bummed this will be the conclusion of the show.
How’s that title for some alliteration? Lady Gaga looked absolutely stunning at the Grammy’s this year. She went for a very classic look in a gorgeous sparkly dress that was quite deep cut, a platinum gray wig + a beautiful green and silver cat eye. Recreating this look was actually quite difficult! It took a lot of blending + adding color, and I had to spray my brushes with MAC Fix+ a few times to try to really intensify the colors. Also, how about that performance?! Perfection. She put a red lip on to sing with Tony + she totally nailed the sassy jazz singer look.

Sharon Farrell is a YouTuber + makeup artist that I have been following for probably about a year now, and her looks are always so gosh darn beautiful. She consistently puts out content that is user friendly + well explained, and always comes out flawless. This particular look that she did really struck me + I just had to do it. Luckily I have many of the same products she used so I was able to pull off a pretty good version of it (am I allowed to say that?!). I couldn’t stop looking at my makeup that day…Sharon, you’re a genius! I am always pulling inspiration from other people out there so let me know if there are any videos you really love that you’d like me to recreate!
New Years Eve is the time for glitter, sparkles, bubbles (in beverages, of course). This look was created as part of a collaboration with a subscriber who reached out to me named Sondra. We decided that we would both use the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette to create looks fit for a NYE party. In addition to makeup, I also tackled nails + hair. Sondra will be bringing you an outfit as well as makeup so make sure to head over to her channel. Doing this collaboration was so much fun! I hope this is the beginning of something new for my channel. Huge thanks also to my good friend Barrington Beats who has allowed me to use a couple of his mixes as the soundtrack to my video. If you want to hear ore of his stuff, you can find him here.
I quickly want to thank each and every one of you who has supported me throughout 2014. If you read the blog, watch the videos, or tell someone else about my little channel, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I started my YouTube channel and this blog because I truly love all things beauty + absolutely adore the beauty community already established on the web + wanted to be a part of it. Words cannot properly capture the excitement I experience when one of you tells me you tried a technique I used, watched a video I posted or learned something new. That’s the point of all this! I only hope to grow and improve in 2015 and bring you better content. Being able to share my passion has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life!
I filmed this look today, that being Sunday, as I was running out to do a few errands & wanted to look a little bit more presentable for the outside world. That being said, there are 2 things I’d like to mention. 1)There are MANY days that I go out + feel totally fine without makeup on, I have no problem being a makeup free lady but today I felt like I wanted just a little to even out my skin tone + brighten up my face. 2) You can do this any day, not just Sunday 🙂
This look is insanely easy + quick and anyone can do it. Tinted moisturizer provides some coverage while concealer takes care of those tough spots. Cream highlighter + blush add a soft glow, a little liner + mascara frame the eyes and a simple lip color pulls it all together!
