Loved creating this soft peachy look perfect for warmer weather using a couple shiny pretty products I was dying to use…Stila’s Magnificent Metal Eyes in Kitten and Makeup Geek’s In the Spotlight. I shamelessly watch Shaaanxo’s Vlogs every single day and she uses this Stila product often in the inner corner and it always looks incredible on her! I realized that I used waaaaaay too much on this day but whatever. I also rocked what I like to call the Accidentally Aggressive Cat Eye. Whatcha gon’ do.

Just like all of you, I am a total blog, DIY junkie. I love pulling inspiration from other humans on the internet whose creativity and ingenuity far surpasses mine. The Beauty Department, a website co-founded by Lauren Conrad + her hair + makeup peeps, has been one of my favorites since it’s inception a couple years ago. I love Lauren Conrad and admire how she has been able to build an empire with grace + class post MTV Reality show fame. Most of the hair tutorials until recently have been mainly geared toward ladies with long, thick hair so I have simply admired them from afar. Thank GOODNESS LC chopped her locks and started somewhat of a revolution (#cleartheshoulders anyone?). They featured this hair tutorial recently so I decided to give it a shot! My hair is what I believe is called a graduated bob, meaning it’s shorter in the back and longer in the front. The length is just about shoulder length so I was able to easily follow the steps. My version initially came out a bit more wavy and less undone, but over time it loosened + settled nicely. In my experience, the style can last a few days (thanks Dry Shampoo!).
I didn’t have all the products she used or the exact ones, but I was still able to achieve the style. Use whatever you have in your cabinet! I used a Dove mousse, Not Your Mother’s Hairspray and Not Your Mother’s serum. I bet pomade would really blow this style out of the water, so it’s on my wish list for a future shopping adventure. Happy hair styling!
(PS. This makeup tutorial will be up in the next few days, stay tuned!)
