As far as holiday makeup looks go, this one is fairly straight-forward – it’s all about a red lip, gold, fluttery lashes & glowy skin. It’s kinda my version of makeup heaven. This look can be achieved with things you probably already have in your collection & can be adapted to your features. Want to do a cat eye? Be my guest. Want to skip that nose highlight? Good on ya. Don’t feel like applying lashes? Do ya thing, girl! (or guy!) All I ask is that you enjoy yourself, cause that’s what makeup is all about.

NAILS: OPI – My Favorite Ornament
Ingrid Nilsen, aka Miss Glamorazzi, has gone through a hell of transformation over the years that I have been watching her. She has undergone a person journey that has reflected through her video content, and it has been amazing to watch. Thanks to Ingrid I know about Tanya Burr and Estee Lalonde, aka Essie Button. Thanks to Ingrid I feel like it’s ok to be myself on the internet, and to talk about things that may be considered tabboo (though I haven’t really had the opportunity to ‘go there’). I think she is wonderful and lovely, and I feel inspired by her message for all of us to give ourselves our best chances, and to be our most authentic selves. She is a beautiful person, inside + out! So doing this little tribute to her was a no brainer.
Ingrid loves the NYX Matte lipstick in Indie Flick, a champagne eye and wavy hair, so I replicated that for this video!

If we are being completely honest, I am a woman who highly covets sleep. I am a night owl that could stay up until who knows when and sleep until well after the sun comes up. Needless to say, the morning and I are not pals. I do a lot of things to make sure I can get a few extra zzzzz’s in the a.m., which is not limited to styling my hair the night before, choosing an outfit and even planning my makeup. Don’t tell me I am the only one to do the latter…right?
Anyways, I have recently gotten into a bit of a groove when it comes to the latter and that’s what I’m sharing with you today! A defined crease, a pretty lower lash line, a wing and some simple lips. This is perfect for work and for the days we just can’t be bothered. To amp this up, add lashes and a fun lip. See? Easy peasy.

When I saw this video by Jaclyn Hill, I low key lost my mind. Not only were the new matte shades by Makeup Geek gorgeous, but I owned the very shimmery green and purple shadows she was using on her lid (insert happy dance!). It took me juuuuust about 12 hours to re-create the look and I am SO GLAD I did! I obviously don’t have the MUG mattes yet (they don’t come out until later this week), so I used what I had already, mixing and applying, praying the results would yield something similar to my girl JH. The green is a duochrome called Secret Garden and to be honest, I had no clue how I was going to make this shadow work but Jaclyn showed me the way with sandy browns, purples and even some poppy pink.
My version is below…I tweeted it (@AmberRae) and was stunned when Marlena herself RT’d it! I have been freaking out on the inside pretty much all day about it. I didn’t edit these at all, sometimes I will play with light to show true pigmentation but I didn’t need to for these. I hope you guys enjoy, and if you’d like a tutorial on this look let me know and I would be more than happy to film it for you! xoxo

I have become a ride or die Patriots fan. Something happened to me within the last 6 years and I am forever changed…I now care when we make a play, listen (begrudgingly, mostly) to sports radio and follow a multitude of Patriots twitter feeds. I’m in, and I’m in it for real. I can’t pass up an opportunity to rock a red lip and lucky for me, one of the Pats’ colors is red. This is a look I like to wear during game day, and am always looking for new ways to wear my team’s colors. THIS LOOK’S A TOUCHDOWN! It’s ok, I hate me for that one too.
Here’s a quick Get Ready With Me on today’s game day!

When I first started watching YouTube, it didn’t take long to discover the adorable Zoella, aka Zoe Sugg. Everyone already knows who I am talking about, of course (she just hit 9 million subs, are you kidding me?!). Luckily, we share a love for Rimmel lipstick in 107 and can’t resist pairing it with a gold eye. Zoe recently shared a tutorial featuring a similar look and it inspired me to do one of my own. This lipstick gives me all the fall feels, and is perfect for this time of year.

If I am being 100% real with you all, I must confess that I felt hella inspired by Katy Perry to do this look. I am the girl who has loved KP wholeheartedly from the beginning. I bought her album, I got her stickers, I saw her in person at Warped Tour but after getting rained on decided to skip her set because “she’ll be back”. After being a freakin’ megastar. Anyways, I got tickets for her Prismatic World Tour with a girlfriend last year and finally had the opportunity to see her. At the Garden. Girl’s got skills.
Her Prismatic World Tour made it onto my most favorite place, Netflix, so naturally I put it on and ate it all up. And then filmed this look because glitter is pretty and she wears it and I had some in my drawer from an Ipsy bag.

“Memories” – Petit Biscuit
Welcome to another installment of makeup inspired by a YouTuber! This week is Queen Jaclyn Hill who is consistently flawless, creative + energetic. I was inspired by this tutorial she shared + followed it the best I could, though I did not have the same exact products, I used the same techniques to achieve a similar look. If I did this again I would use a different pair of lashes but otherwise, I loved wearing this look!

“Sunset Lover” – Petit Biscuit
I love me some Essie Button, aka Estee. She is a down to earth, hilarious, genuine + talented Canadian who has been living in London for the last four or five years. Whenever I watch her videos, I feel like I am catching up with an old friend + just hanging out. She posted this photo to Instagram and I thought DAMN I have to recreate this look! Estee’s makeup is usually on the more natural side but she does love a good bright lip and that’s exactly what this look is all about. I used products that I know she has and loves, including the Honey Bronzer by The Body Shop (I picked it up because of her!), the bareMinerals base + the Maybelline Dark Circle Eraser Concealer.
Used Flash when snappin’ pics of this makeup look, FYI!
