Today’s look is inspired by the lovely Ariana Grande! She generally rocks a cat eye, nude lips and not much on the face. I threw on a pair of feline lashes for some added drama, which is totally optional. I added a bit of Hoola bronzer as well but I forgot to press play when I did so you just don’t see the application of it, but it’s there. Ariana is much more golden than I am so I wanted to duplicate that a little bit. This look is insanely simple + you should all try it! The picture I used for reference is below!

How’s that title for some alliteration? Lady Gaga looked absolutely stunning at the Grammy’s this year. She went for a very classic look in a gorgeous sparkly dress that was quite deep cut, a platinum gray wig + a beautiful green and silver cat eye. Recreating this look was actually quite difficult! It took a lot of blending + adding color, and I had to spray my brushes with MAC Fix+ a few times to try to really intensify the colors. Also, how about that performance?! Perfection. She put a red lip on to sing with Tony + she totally nailed the sassy jazz singer look.
NYX Infinite Shadow Stick – Blackout

Sharon Farrell is a YouTuber + makeup artist that I have been following for probably about a year now, and her looks are always so gosh darn beautiful. She consistently puts out content that is user friendly + well explained, and always comes out flawless. This particular look that she did really struck me + I just had to do it. Luckily I have many of the same products she used so I was able to pull off a pretty good version of it (am I allowed to say that?!). I couldn’t stop looking at my makeup that day…Sharon, you’re a genius! I am always pulling inspiration from other people out there so let me know if there are any videos you really love that you’d like me to recreate!
Just like all of you, I am a total blog, DIY junkie. I love pulling inspiration from other humans on the internet whose creativity and ingenuity far surpasses mine. The Beauty Department, a website co-founded by Lauren Conrad + her hair + makeup peeps, has been one of my favorites since it’s inception a couple years ago. I love Lauren Conrad and admire how she has been able to build an empire with grace + class post MTV Reality show fame. Most of the hair tutorials until recently have been mainly geared toward ladies with long, thick hair so I have simply admired them from afar. Thank GOODNESS LC chopped her locks and started somewhat of a revolution (#cleartheshoulders anyone?). They featured this hair tutorial recently so I decided to give it a shot! My hair is what I believe is called a graduated bob, meaning it’s shorter in the back and longer in the front. The length is just about shoulder length so I was able to easily follow the steps. My version initially came out a bit more wavy and less undone, but over time it loosened + settled nicely. In my experience, the style can last a few days (thanks Dry Shampoo!).
I didn’t have all the products she used or the exact ones, but I was still able to achieve the style. Use whatever you have in your cabinet! I used a Dove mousse, Not Your Mother’s Hairspray and Not Your Mother’s serum. I bet pomade would really blow this style out of the water, so it’s on my wish list for a future shopping adventure. Happy hair styling!
(PS. This makeup tutorial will be up in the next few days, stay tuned!)
For this look, I practiced what I preach…I was bold + went outside my comfort zone! I was watching a Jaclyn Hill tutorial recently + she was wearing lashes by a brand called Lashes by Lena. They. Were. STUNNING! On JH’s big, beautiful eyes they looked so soft and lush. And there was a coupon code. Queue me racing to the website to buy my very own pair of Bianca style lashes. In the box, they don’t look like anything insane. But on my tiny eyes, oh honey! They are a commitment. I was shocked when I applied them. I was tempted to take them off but then I thought, screw it, let’s just finish off the look + see how I feel. And let me tell you, I ended up loving them. I wore them for the rest of my day, including a stare-filled trip to the grocery store (they don’t bite, people!). Once I trimmed them to fit my eye size, they were great. But every time I looked down, I could definitely notice them on my eyes + I could feel them. Maybe it’s just my inexperience with lashes, who knows, but I will definitely be pulling them out for special occasions in the future.
In addition to a big, fluttery lash I went for glowy skin, cause who doesn’t want that?! Using light infusing primers, a damp sponge + cream products help to accomplish a lovely, healthy dewiness. For the lips I chose an insanely long wearing liquid lipstick by Stila in the shade Beso. You can easily adapt the look + use whatever colors your heart desires!
New Years Eve is the time for glitter, sparkles, bubbles (in beverages, of course). This look was created as part of a collaboration with a subscriber who reached out to me named Sondra. We decided that we would both use the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette to create looks fit for a NYE party. In addition to makeup, I also tackled nails + hair. Sondra will be bringing you an outfit as well as makeup so make sure to head over to her channel. Doing this collaboration was so much fun! I hope this is the beginning of something new for my channel. Huge thanks also to my good friend Barrington Beats who has allowed me to use a couple of his mixes as the soundtrack to my video. If you want to hear ore of his stuff, you can find him here.
I quickly want to thank each and every one of you who has supported me throughout 2014. If you read the blog, watch the videos, or tell someone else about my little channel, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I started my YouTube channel and this blog because I truly love all things beauty + absolutely adore the beauty community already established on the web + wanted to be a part of it. Words cannot properly capture the excitement I experience when one of you tells me you tried a technique I used, watched a video I posted or learned something new. That’s the point of all this! I only hope to grow and improve in 2015 and bring you better content. Being able to share my passion has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life!
I planned on doing a voice over for this, however, our family suffered the loss of most adored feline friend + I just can’t bring myself to record something. I have instead used music from a Christmas EP I recorded last year with my boyfriend as the soundtrack + have listed all the products below + in the description box. Please give all your loved ones, both human + furry, lots of hugs, kisses and cuddles and tell them every single day how much you treasure them.
This look is your classic holiday makeup, complete with a long lasting red lip + lots of shine.
I’m on a real green kick these days. I think it might be the impending Christmas Holiday or simply that I am just really drawn to it at the moment. Green is usually not my go to color but I have been absolutely loving the way it looks on my brown eyes! This look is perfect for a Holiday party or evening out + is very, very simple. If you’re not into green you can use any color you’d like! The technique can be applied to any color – you just need a dark base, a transition shade + your lid color. The key is to apply + blend, apply + blend – you can never blend too much! It is crucial for creating a smokey look that doesn’t come off as a black eye.
I filmed this look today, that being Sunday, as I was running out to do a few errands & wanted to look a little bit more presentable for the outside world. That being said, there are 2 things I’d like to mention. 1)There are MANY days that I go out + feel totally fine without makeup on, I have no problem being a makeup free lady but today I felt like I wanted just a little to even out my skin tone + brighten up my face. 2) You can do this any day, not just Sunday 🙂
This look is insanely easy + quick and anyone can do it. Tinted moisturizer provides some coverage while concealer takes care of those tough spots. Cream highlighter + blush add a soft glow, a little liner + mascara frame the eyes and a simple lip color pulls it all together!
